"What Exactly Is Different About Me?"... Go Young-wook Targets Lee Kyung-young This Time

Go Young-wook, a former member of the group Lula who was sentenced to prison for charges including sexual assault of minors, expressed his frustration once again over the forced closure of his YouTube channel and targeted veteran actor Lee Kyung-young.

Go wrote on his social media account recently, "When I started YouTube, they briefly tested the waters, then, watching the media and public opinion, they ruthlessly and at the speed of light gave unreasonable and awkward reasons, suddenly applying unfair regulations only to me as an individual and shutting me down."

He continued, "If that’s the reason, I can’t mention all of them one by one, but a certain veteran actor with a similar legal record appeared on a drinking YouTube show and talked about 'X-tanju?' in a cheerful atmosphere," adding, "This video currently has nearly 7 million views." He expressed his grievance, saying, "These are people who have each been legally punished for similar incidents in the past, so what exactly is the difference?" The veteran actor Go referred to appears to be actor Lee Kyung-young. Lee recently appeared on the YouTube channel 'Jjanhan Hyung Shin Dong-yeop' and mentioned the so-called 'X-tanju' scene from the movie 'Inside Men.' In the past, Lee was sentenced in 2002 to three years in prison with a two-year probation and 160 hours of community service for charges related to prostitution involving minors.

Go also expressed dissatisfaction, saying, "My YouTube channel, aside from shorts videos featuring our dogs, only had one solo song I recorded before, edited with footage of my dog by the window and music," and added, "There is a YouTube channel that uploaded that video as is, so I checked it by logging in with my family account and reported it multiple times to YouTube for copyright infringement, but why is this still blatantly ignored and left unattended?"

Go was arrested and indicted in January 2013 on charges of sexually assaulting and forcibly molesting three minors four times between July 2010 and December 2012 at his officetel and car (violating the Child and Youth Protection Act). Later, the Supreme Court sentenced him to two years and six months in prison, three years of electronic monitoring, and five years of information disclosure. Go was released in full in 2015 and wore an electronic anklet for three years after his release.

In November 2020, Go opened an Instagram account saying, "I now want to cautiously communicate with the world," but it was shut down within a day due to Instagram’s operating policies. In August, he announced the launch of his YouTube channel 'Go! Young-wook GoDog Days,' saying, "I lived a shameful life. I feel like I’m aging miserably at home, lamenting, so I’m starting YouTube without much thought to escape this lethargic daily life," but YouTube also closed his account.
