Moon Geum-ju, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea (representing Goheung, Boseong, Jangheung, and Gangjin), announced on the 20th that the party's parliamentary group, ‘The Yeomin,’ will hold the 2nd ‘Discussion Forum for the Realization of Judicial Justice’ on the 22nd at the National Assembly Members' Office Building, Meeting Room 2.

This forum follows the discussion held on the 16th on the topic of ‘Review of the Crime of False Statement Publication for Election Purposes under the Public Official Election Act,’ and this time will focus on various issues concerning the establishment requirements of the crime of subornation of perjury.

The forum will begin with a presentation by Professor Lee Jin-guk of Ajou University School of Law, and will address various legal issues related to the establishment requirements of the crime of subornation of perjury based on real-life cases.

Rep. Moon emphasized, “The prosecution edited the recordings of witness Kim Jin-sung and Representative Lee Jae-myung regarding a case from 16 years ago and filed an unfounded indictment. The witness was repeatedly asked to ‘recall and tell the truth as it is’ to refresh his vague memory of the long-past event, yet charging him with subornation of perjury is extremely unreasonable.”

She added, “The prosecution, leading a political prosecution, manipulated the indictment based on devilishly edited recordings to eliminate political opponents of the ‘Yoon-Geonhee’ regime. The evil acts of the prosecution will be thoroughly exposed through this forum.”
