Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam successfully held the "6th Odongdong Residents' Day Commemorative Residents' Harmony Festival" at Odongdong Cultural Square on the 19th.
The event, hosted by the Odongdong Autonomous Organization Council of Masanhappo-gu and organized by the Odongdong Festival Committee, was attended by about 600 citizens, including Hong Nampyo, Mayor of Changwon Special City, and National Assembly member Choi Hyungdoo.
The pre-event program began with a traditional Korean drum performance, followed by line dance and Nanta performances, providing a variety of attractions and boosting the residents' enthusiasm.
Various prize draws were held at the venue, increasing residents' participation excitement. After the opening ceremony, there were dance performances by local youth clubs, a stage by invited singers, and residents' talent shows, all of which received great responses.
Mayor Hong said, "I hope Odongdong Residents' Day becomes a festival where local residents can laugh and enjoy together like a family. I hope this event serves as an opportunity to strengthen communication and harmony among residents."
Festival Chairman Oh Yunsu stated, "I hope this Residents' Harmony Festival contributes to revitalizing the local economy, including the fish market and traditional market, and provides an opportunity for residents tired of daily life to laugh, enjoy, and heal."
