Gwanak-gu Hosts Traditional Market Harmony Festival for Small Business Owners

9th Small Business Day Celebration from October 23 to 25
Joint Promotion Event Featuring Top Products from Over 30 Outstanding Companies!
Performance to Encourage Small Business Owners and Awards for Contributors to Regional Economic Revitalization Also Held

In Gwanak-gu (Mayor Park Jun-hee), 95.8% of registered businesses are small-scale enterprises with fewer than 10 employees, making small business owners the mainstay of the local economy.

To commemorate the 9th Small Business Day, the district is hosting the ‘Small Business Traditional Market Harmony Festival’ to revitalize small business owners and traditional markets struggling due to the prolonged economic downturn.

At this event, about 30 businesses from local small enterprises and traditional markets will gather in one place to showcase their representative products. The district expects that joint promotional sales will lead to increased revenue through product publicity.

The main items for sale include clothing, accessories, handmade goods, daily necessities, and traditional market specialties such as agricultural products, seafood, and livestock products.

Additionally, the district will hold a performance under the theme ‘The Strength of Connecting Small Things!’ to encourage small business owners in overcoming the difficult economic situation.

An event to award commendations to those who contributed to revitalizing the local economy and to boost the pride of small business owners has also been prepared.

This year, the district has held festivals at four alleyway commercial areas to promote these districts and attract external customers, contributing to increased sales for small business owners.

Furthermore, by issuing the Gwanak Love Gift Certificate to encourage residents to spend locally, and by implementing policies that practically support small business owners such as the Gwanak-gu Small and Medium Enterprise Development Fund loans and the Gwanak-style Artterior project, the district is accelerating efforts to revive the local commercial districts.

Mayor Park Jun-hee said, “The Harmony Festival is one of the representative events of our Gwanak-gu commercial districts, where small business owners form the backbone of the economy,” adding, “We will do our best to create a business-friendly commercial district for small business owners and traditional market merchants, who are like the capillaries of the local economy.”

For more details about the Harmony Festival, which will be held for three days from October 23 to 25 at the Gwanak-gu Office Plaza, please contact the Gwanak-gu Small Business Association or the Gwanak-gu Office Regional Commercial District Revitalization Division.
