On the 17th, certificates awarded to 5 outstanding youth policy idea proposers
15 proposals selected through expert review, online voting, and on-site voting combined
Innovative ideas include youth mileage, cafe startup space rental, and health points
Gwangjin-gu (Mayor Kim Kyung-ho) awarded certificates to five outstanding proposers who participated in the youth policy contest on the 17th at the Gwangjin-gu Office Mayor’s Office.
The contest, held under the name "Asking Youth and Answering with Policy," was organized to discover innovative and practical policies by reflecting the diverse voices of youth.
Opinions were gathered in five areas: housing, start-ups and employment, living support, culture and arts, and mental health.
The contest was conducted in a way that youth proposed ideas and youth voted. The final five outstanding proposers were selected by combining online votes, on-site votes, and expert evaluation scores. One grand prize team, one excellence award team, and three merit award teams were honored.
The grand prize was awarded to "Gwangjin Youth Mileage." This project grants mileage points when youth participate in district activities, which can be exchanged for Gwangjin Love Gift Certificates and other rewards. It received perfect scores from both expert evaluations and online voting. The excellence award went to "Temporary Space Rental for Cafe Start-ups," which provides start-up spaces and supports funding loans and consultations for prospective youth entrepreneurs.
Three teams also received merit awards: ▲ "Health Points Ounwan Challenge," which awards points for exercising at local sports facilities ▲ "Youth Housing Guide," a detailed information booklet that consolidates scattered youth housing information ▲ "Youth Driving Training Fee Support," which assists with driving training fees and driving license exam fees for youth.
Before the awards ceremony, there was time to talk with the youth. Warm sentiments were shared, such as "Thank you for providing the Gwangjin Water Station," "I enjoyed participating in the Youth Road Festival," and "I was glad to receive support for exam fees."
Kim Kyung-ho, Mayor of Gwangjin-gu, said, "We organized the youth policy contest to incorporate the fresh and creative ideas of the younger generation into district administration. I thank everyone who participated in the contest and once again congratulate the awardees. Please feel free to share any additional policy needs or inconveniences. We will do our best to make Gwangjin-gu a happy place for youth."
