Gapyeong-gun Secures 40 Billion KRW in Provincial Funds for Gyeonggi-do Regional Balanced Development Project

Promotion of Three Projects Including Expansion of Gapyeong Integrated Water Purification Plant

Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi Province (Governor Seo Tae-won) announced on the 18th that it has secured 40 billion KRW in provincial funds through the ‘3rd Gyeonggi Province Regional Balanced Development Project’ promoted by Gyeonggi Province.

The ‘3rd Gyeonggi Province Regional Balanced Development Project,’ which will be carried out over five years from 2025 to 2029, supports 360 billion KRW in provincial funds for six underdeveloped cities and counties within the province to promote balanced development. As a priority strategic project, 240 billion KRW has been confirmed for 27 projects in six cities and counties and will be implemented. Additionally, in the second half of 2025, based on the evaluation of project outcomes and progress, an additional 120 billion KRW will be invested over five years in outstanding cities and counties.

Gapyeong-gun plans to invest a total of 48.1 billion KRW through this regional balanced development project. The projects include three main initiatives: △ Expansion of Gapyeong Integrated Drinking Water Treatment Plant △ Creation of the US-UK Commonwealth Security Neighborhood Park △ Construction of major connecting roads in Gapyeong-eup. Of these, 40 billion KRW will be supported by provincial funds.

The county is continuously focusing on securing national and provincial funds to promote balanced development in Gapyeong-gun. In particular, it plans to make every effort to secure 20 billion KRW in performance incentives, which will be additionally provided based on the evaluation of project outcomes and progress in the second half of 2025.

Governor Seo Tae-won emphasized, “Through the regional balanced development project, we will expand tourism infrastructure and content to revitalize the local economy,” adding, “We will do our best to improve living conditions for residents to increase population inflow and create a healing and happy city of Gapyeong-gun.”
