'Learning Apartment Fire Actions Through Song' Gains Attention
Firefighter Nakyungjin, known as the 'Firefighter Uncle' who earned the nickname 'the second Chungju Man' by dancing slickback in firefighter gear and warning about the dangers of inattentive driving by bumping into utility poles, has now transformed into a 'heavy metal singer' to raise fire awareness.
On the 15th, Firefighter Na uploaded a video titled 'How to Act During an Apartment Fire Through Song' on his YouTube channel 'Firefighter Uncle.' As of 5 p.m. on the 18th, the video has surpassed 81,000 views.

The video begins with a typical scene of three firefighters gathered in a meeting. Suddenly, Firefighter Na says, "I have a song prepared; let me play it for you," and the atmosphere changes dramatically. Firefighter Na reappears as a heavy metal singer with long yellow hair wig, white face paint, and black lipstick, presenting a striking image. As intense metal music plays, he starts singing lyrics like, "If your house is on fire and you can evacuate, get out quickly and save your life." The following lyrics include "But if the path is blocked, wave your hand at the window and wait for rescue," "Safety in the flames, survive," "Breathe through the smoke and find your way," "Escape from this burning hell"," which contain fire evacuation instructions.
Firefighter Na and other firefighters also perform with instruments like drums and guitar, mimicking an actual heavy metal band. The firefighters appearing in the video are members of the Chungbuk Fire Brigade Band, composed of active-duty firefighters. Additionally, various background scenes in the video were created by editing clips from different movies using artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
The response from netizens who watched the video has been enthusiastic. Comments include praises such as "An excellent video that captures artistry, fun, and practicality all at once," "Not death metal but life metal lol," "The best UCC I've seen recently," "Opened a new path for the art of survival metal," and "The fire demon seems scary enough to run away."
Firefighter Na has been consistently active on YouTube since late 2021. He is well-known for his entertaining videos on CPR, the Heimlich maneuver, and water accident response methods. Notably, his 'Firefighter Slickback' video made to prevent winter icy road accidents (with 130,000 views) and 'Go to the World, Firefighter Uncle,' which warns about inattentive driving by showing him dancing and then bumping into a utility pole while walking (with 560,000 views), have gained popularity. Kim Seontae, the Chungju city YouTube operator known as 'Chungju Man,' who watched Firefighter Na’s videos, jokingly commented, "It's fun. I think you just need a little more effort."
In March, Firefighter Na said in an interview with CBS Radio's 'Otteumil Live,' "I don't think of (uploading YouTube videos) as work but as a hobby, so I enjoy it," adding, "Sometimes when firefighting work gets mentally overwhelming, I relieve stress through video production and exercise." Without any support from his organization, he manages all aspects of his YouTube channel?from planning and filming to editing and uploading?on his own during his off-hours.
