Youth-Led Festival Planning and Participation
Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) will hold the 2024 Gijang-gun Youth Festival ‘Dalbam Dalcho’ at Jungang Park in Jeonggwan-eup for two days from the 19th to the 20th.
This event is a representative youth cultural festival hosted by Gijang-gun and promoted by the Youth Participation Committee and the Steering Committee.
Under the subtitle ‘Dalbam Dalcho (On a night when the moon rises, the Moon Rabbit invites you),’ a festival venue will unfold to capture the autumn night atmosphere and the dreams and passions of youth.
From 6 p.m. on the 19th, a stage will be held where youth can freely express their hidden talents, featuring congratulatory performances by Wonstein and Cyburger, along with performances by youth teams from 13 local schools.
During the event, various experience booths will be operated, including ▲‘Moon Rabbit Moru Doll Making’ with the Youth Steering Committee ▲‘UV Resin Art’ by the Youth Participation Committee ▲‘Economic Play Experience’ with the Gijang-gun Career Education Support Center ▲‘Traditional Culture Experience’ by the Gijang Cultural Etiquette School ▲Dalbam Dalcho photo-taking ▲face painting, and more.
Additionally, the Gijang-gun Education and Youth Division Youth Dream Team, local youth facilities such as the Youth Training Center, Cultural Etiquette School, and Counseling Welfare Center will support the successful operation of the event by promoting youth programs and providing counseling.
Governor Jeong Jong-bok said, “This event is a festival where youth take the lead to fully showcase their talents and abilities, and all generations can enjoy together,” adding, “We hope not only local youth but also many residents will participate and enjoy the deepening autumn atmosphere along with various pleasures and sights.”
A county official stated that this event is significant as it is a demand-driven event where youth take a leading role from planning to overall execution.
In June, the Gijang-gun Youth Participation Organization (Youth Steering Committee and Youth Participation Committee) took the lead in deciding the event theme through voting by youth using local youth-related institutions. Since September, youth executives, youth performance teams, and youth MCs who will plan and operate the event have been recruited, and the event is being carried out with youth leadership and participation from start to finish.
