'Fan Assault Involvement' Jessi Finally Ends Contract with Agency

"Exclusive Contract Terminated as of the 18th"

Singer Jessi, who was involved in the ‘fan assault incident,’ has terminated her exclusive contract with her agency. It is reported that Jessi’s involvement in the recent fan assault incident influenced the contract termination.

Jessi’s agency, DOD Entertainment, stated on the 18th, “We sincerely apologize once again for causing concern due to recent unfavorable news,” and added, “After many discussions about future activities with Jessi, and at her request, we have decided after careful consideration to terminate the exclusive contract as of October 18, 2024.”

They continued, “Although the period was short, we express our gratitude to Jessi for being with us and sincerely support her future endeavors.”

According to the police and others, one of Jessi’s party assaulted a minor fan, A, who requested a photo with Jessi in Apgujeong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in the early morning of the 29th of last month. A filed a complaint against Jessi and three others, including a producer, and Jessi appeared at the police station on the 16th as a suspect. Jessi claimed she did not know who assaulted A and told reporters, “I hope the person who hit her is found quickly and punished. I will tell the truth as it is and leave.”

Earlier, on the 12th, Jessi explained through social media (SNS), “I sincerely apologize for causing concern to many people due to reports about the recent assault incident involving me,” and added, “There was an incident where a fan was suddenly assaulted by someone I met for the first time that day.”

Meanwhile, Jessi ended her contract with More Vision, founded by Park Jae-beom, earlier this year and signed an exclusive contract with DOD last month. Having established her independent label UNNI and started independent activities, Jessi is leaving her agency again after about a month due to this unfortunate incident.
