Co-hosted with Naver N Golf
Bithumb announced on the 18th that it is recruiting participants for the amateur golf tournament '2024 Bithumb Handicap Classic' until the 10th of next month.
The '2024 Bithumb Handicap Classic,' held on November 22 at Seowon Hills Country Club, is co-hosted by Bithumb and Naver N Golf.
The tournament will be conducted in an 18-hole stroke play format, divided into three groups based on the official handicap scores from Naver MY Golf, with 216 amateur golfers competing for a total prize pool of 30 million KRW and the honor of victory.
The biggest feature of this tournament is that the competition is divided into three groups based on handicap criteria. According to the official handicap scores from Naver MY Golf, the groups are divided as follows: △ Group A, handicap up to 9.9 △ Group B, handicap 10 to 19.9 △ Group C, handicap 20 and above, and a handicap match ranking is held. Additionally, a combined group stroke match will also be conducted.
Applications can be made through the official Naver Sports blog post titled '2024 Bithumb Handicap Classic Golf Tournament.' Eligibility is limited to Bithumb members born before 2000 who have been issued an official handicap by Naver MY Golf. However, professional organization members, holders of professional licenses, and players from the Korean Mid-Amateur Golf Federation's championship and senior divisions are not allowed to participate.
Participants will be selected through the 'Bithumb Referrer Event.' Selection is based on the number of referees listed on the application form, with participants chosen per handicap group accordingly. The final selected participants will be individually notified on November 13. The top three players in the combined stroke and each group, as well as one male and one female player per group for longest drive and nearest to the pin, will receive a total prize and awards amounting to 30 million KRW. Participants who record a hole-in-one will be awarded a special prize of 100 million KRW.
Moon Sun-il, Head of Bithumb Services, stated, "Going forward, Bithumb will continue to actively support amateur sports, e-sports, and other sports and cultural arts fields to contribute to society."
