As the recorded conversation between former announcer-turned-broadcaster Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok, who are in the midst of a mutual alienation divorce lawsuit, was revealed, netizens have shown polarized reactions.
On the 17th, 'Dispatch' released the full content of a phone call lasting about an hour between Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok on October 13 last year, along with KakaoTalk conversations. Dispatch reported that, judging from the private conversations between the couple, the reason for the divorce is not alienation but rather "a comprehensive range of physical and mental conflicts including verbal abuse, violence, suspicion, surveillance, threats, insults, and disparagement."
According to Dispatch, Choi Dong-seok searched through Park Ji-yoon’s phone for KakaoTalk and Instagram DM conversations. Afterwards, Choi Dong-seok accused Park Ji-yoon of "emotional infidelity" by nitpicking these messages. Furthermore, the situation where Park Ji-yoon was responsible for living expenses, children’s tuition, car lease payments, and various taxes in Jeju was also revealed, causing public opinion to lean toward one side.
After the recording was made public, Park Ji-yoon posted several photos on her Instagram. She uploaded pictures of a clear sky, flowers, and making hand-heart gestures with her children. The post received an outpouring of supportive comments such as "After seeing the recording, I’m no longer neutral," "How did you endure all this time?" "We support you," "There’s a reason the children live with their mother," "Park Ji-yoon is so pitiful," and "Sorry for the misunderstanding."
At the same time, Choi Dong-seok’s Instagram was flooded with comments criticizing his behavior. Netizens left remarks like "His harsh words are shocking," "He said he couldn’t talk about personal matters on air, but I’m disappointed," "He’s really pathetic, can’t stand it," and "The children must have been more hurt." Some netizens also claimed that Choi Dong-seok was deleting critical comments directed at him, posting messages like "Why are you deleting comments?" and "Are you deleting mine too?"

Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok, who were classmates in the 30th class of KBS announcers, married in 2009 and have one son and one daughter. After 14 years of marriage, they announced their divorce last October. Park Ji-yoon secured custody and parental rights, and recently the two have filed mutual alienation lawsuits, engaging in a messy legal battle.
