iToxy (CEO Jeon Bong-gyu) announced on the 18th that the MMORPG 'Lasallas' ranked number one immediately upon its release in Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Macau. Lasallas was launched at 1 PM Korean time on the 17th.
According to the company, Lasallas had been gaining word-of-mouth popularity among Taiwanese MMORPG users even before its release, and it achieved the number one spot on the Taiwan Apple App Store popularity chart just about an hour and a half after launch. Taiwan is one of only two countries in Asia where Apple device users outnumber Android device users, making the number one ranking on the Apple App Store particularly significant.
Along with expressing gratitude for achieving the number one spot on the Apple App Store, Lasallas immediately posted a notice that a commemorative event will be held until the 31st, awarding all players premium avatars, pet summoning tickets, and other in-game items worth approximately 1 million KRW.
The game also rose to second place on the Google Play Store popularity chart, and its success is expected to be maximized. Given the industry trend of providing additional rewards for reaching number one on the Google Play Store, there are movements among Taiwanese users to push the game to the top spot themselves, so continued success is anticipated.
An iToxy representative stated, “Despite Taiwan being a red ocean market where well-known domestic MMORPG games are already operating, Lasallas achieved the number one ranking thanks to the expectations of users and positive reviews among newly connected players. We will do our best to establish ourselves as a well-made MMORPG that keeps the promises made to users since the Korean service.”
