Former member of the global band 'One Direction,' Liam Payne, died after falling from a hotel building in Argentina. Local police are investigating the condition of the room where he stayed and are looking into the specific circumstances surrounding the incident.

Argentine media outlets La Naci?n and Clar?n reported on the initial investigation results by Buenos Aires police at the CasaSur Hotel on the 17th (local time). The CasaSur Hotel was where Liam Payne stayed before his death. Police who examined Room 10 on the 3rd floor described it as "completely disorderly and messy."

It was reported that Payne had been staying in this room since the 13th. Police believe he died after falling from the 3rd-floor room. They also collected containers from Room 10 containing clonazepam, a lighter, whiskey, and other medications.

Clonazepam is a drug used to treat seizures and panic disorders. Due to its potential for dependence and abuse, it is classified as a psychotropic medication.

Earlier, some photos of Payne's room were circulated on social media. These images showed a room cluttered with a broken TV, unidentified powder, candles, and aluminum foil. La Naci?n quoted an anonymous police officer saying, "Investigators are also examining whether (Payne) experienced symptoms of intoxication or disorientation."

Meanwhile, following Payne's death, tributes from One Direction fans and fellow musicians have continued. Flowers and notes with messages of condolence were reportedly left in front of the CasaSur Hotel.

Ronnie Wood, guitarist of the British rock band The Rolling Stones, who toured with One Direction in the past, expressed his condolences, saying he was "shocked and saddened." The American group Backstreet Boys also conveyed their sympathies to "Directioners worldwide" through their official social media accounts.

One Direction was formed in 2010 through the British singer survival program 'The X Factor.' Besides Payne, members included Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Louis Tomlinson, and Niall Horan. They gained worldwide popularity before going on hiatus in 2015, and Payne has pursued a solo career since 2019.
