Poem-Korea Water Resources Corporation Designates Eco Delta City Exclusive Zone for Corporate Attraction (140,000 Pyeong)
Busan City will publicly recruit companies to move into the ‘Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Convergence Zone’ within Eco Delta City from the 18th to November 15th.
The city and the Korea Water Resources Corporation signed a business agreement in 2021 to attract excellent companies with high contributions to the local economy and designated 140,000 pyeong of ‘Busan City Exclusive Corporate Attraction Zone’ within Eco Delta City.
The city divided the exclusive zone into three areas based on key industries for attraction: ① Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Convergence Zone, ② Data Industry Zone, and ③ Strategic Attraction Zone, and completed the priority recruitment of tenant companies for the ‘Data Industry Zone’ last year.
The ‘Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Convergence Zone’ is a future-oriented urban high-tech industrial complex based on advanced ICT such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), Big Data, and Internet of Things (IoT).
The city plans to develop about 57,000 pyeong here as an ‘Advanced Business Hub Space’ and will pilot release two plots (8,500 pyeong) to recruit tenant companies.
Companies wishing to move in can refer to the announcement posted on the city and Korea Water Resources Corporation Busan Eco Delta City websites from the 18th and apply in person at the city’s Investment Attraction Division from November 13th to 15th for three days.
Applicants must prepare and submit the application form for selection as a sales target, business plan, presentation materials, and other supporting documents in person.
After the application period ends, the Tenant Company Screening Committee, composed mainly of private industry experts related to the relevant industries, will review the applications and select priority sales recommendation candidates. The sales contract and other move-in procedures are scheduled to proceed from December.
Tenant Company Screening Committee members will be selected through an open recruitment process. In November, they will comprehensively evaluate the companies’ eligibility, investment business plans, and contributions to the local community to select priority sales recommendation candidates and recommend them to the Korea Water Resources Corporation.
The Korea Water Resources Corporation plans to proceed with sales contracts and other move-in procedures as early as December.
Through this public recruitment, the city plans to select optimal companies with excellent technology and significant economic ripple effects on the local industry, such as job creation, and develop the area into a business hub centered on advanced industries.
Beyond a simple corporate complex, it aims to create urban solutions through the convergence and demonstration of smart technologies, applying these technologies to citizens’ lives across various fields such as transportation, energy management, and environmental monitoring.
Shin Chang-ho, Director of the Digital Economy Office of the city, said, “Eco Delta City is the optimal place to introduce innovative technologies related to water resources and the environment. The ICT Convergence Zone will also be developed as an advanced business hub space utilizing eco-friendly renewable energy. We will continue to prioritize attracting eco-friendly companies with high contributions to the local economy to create a city where the environment and economy are well balanced.”
Eco Delta City is planned as a large eco-friendly advanced new city using advanced water management technology, including high-tech science and technology companies and research institutes, as well as 28,600 apartment units, 1,700 single-family homes, a general hospital, and large commercial complexes.
In particular, it is expected to attract attention as Busan’s top residential and industrial complex, equipped with a wide-area transportation network with access to Gimhae International Airport and the hinterland of Busan New Port, and with the opening of the Hadan-Noksan Line and completion of the Gadeokdo New Airport.
