A Diverse Range of Activities for All Ages to Enjoy
Jungnang-gu (Mayor Ryu Gyeong-gi) will hold festivals to revitalize commercial districts at various locations in the area to welcome autumn.
First, from October 18 to 19, the 'Newtro Sagajeong Market Makgeolli Festival' will be held at Sagajeong Market. This festival, themed 'Newtro (New+Retro),' is expected to attract visitors' attention through various programs where young and middle-aged generations can come together.
The festival will begin on October 18 at 5 PM at Sagajeong Market (21 Sagajeong-ro 53-gil) with a performance by a guest singer, followed by ▲a prize drawing ▲performances by local club artists ▲various experiential programs such as face painting and caricatures.
Additionally, a special event offering one bottle of makgeolli for purchases over 10,000 won will be held, anticipating great response from visitors.
Along with this, on October 19 from 6 PM, the ‘2nd Rose Light Street Rose Pocha’ will take place in the alley shopping district around Dongil-ro 163-gil.
This event is the second one following the successful first Rose Pocha held in May, aiming to revitalize the local commercial district and increase sales in the shopping area.
Starting with a prize drawing that began on the 17th, various new concepts and programs such as ▲a flea market ▲retro experiences ▲stage performances are prepared for residents visiting Rose Light Street. At the flea market, local residents will sell handmade knitted and fabric products, accessories, and more.
Finally, the ‘6th Malkong Dalkong in Myeonmok Local Market Festival’ will be held over the weekend from October 19 to 20 along the walking path in front of Gyeomjae Small Library (1031-22 Myeonmok-dong).
This event is organized by the Myeonmok-dong Living Commercial District Promotion Committee and aims to revitalize the Myeonmok-dong commercial district by featuring performances by Jungnang artists from various genres and a market showcasing excellent products from small business owners in Myeonmok-dong.
Also, unique experiential programs such as making Moru dolls, hand-knitted keyrings, and tattoo stickers, which families can enjoy, along with various events, are prepared.
Special benefits for participants, including a stamp tour and discount coupon events, will also be provided, raising great interest among local residents and visitors.
Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “As autumn arrives, various commercial district revitalization events with high participation from residents are underway, so I hope many people will enjoy them,” adding, “Through these events, we will widely promote the charm of Jungnang-gu and continue to make efforts to revitalize local commercial districts.”
Jungnang-gu is striving to revitalize the local economy by supporting commercial district revitalization projects in various ways, including registering Onnuri gift certificates at traditional markets and alley shopping districts, promoting business modernization and facility modernization contest projects, and holding holiday events.
