Panecia Participates in World's Largest Data Center Exhibition
Unveils AI Cluster Equipped with CXL 3.1 Switch
Attracts Attention from Google, MS, Nvidia, AMD, and Others
Panecia, a native Compute Express Link (CXL) fabless (design-specialized) company, has unveiled the world's first AI cluster equipped with a CXL 3.1 switch. Demand from data center companies such as Google and Microsoft is expected to increase.

Panecia announced on the 18th that it revealed the solution at the world's largest data center event, the 'OCP Global Summit,' held from the 15th to 17th (local time) in California, USA. This year, more than 7,000 participants, including numerous global companies, attended the event to exhibit and discuss AI solutions.
Big tech companies are using massive amounts of memory in data centers to improve the accuracy of AI services. Adding more servers to increase memory capacity inevitably raises the costs of purchasing memory and other components.
CXL is a technology that efficiently connects central processing units (CPUs), graphics processing units (GPUs), memory, and more in high-performance computing systems. Using CXL with existing memory modules can expand capacity by more than double. CXL is regarded as a next-generation solution that maximizes data processing performance in data centers and improves bottleneck issues.
The technology Panecia unveiled this time is an 'AI cluster' that reduces AI data center costs by utilizing CXL. The framework was built using Panecia's main products: the CXL 3.1 switch and CXL 3.1 intellectual property (IP).
Panecia's CXL switch supports connections for all types of CXL devices, including CPUs and GPUs. It can connect hundreds of various devices into a single system.
Panecia plans to provide the exhibited CXL 3.1 switch to customers in the second half of next year.
A Panecia official said, "Global data center companies attending the event, such as Google, Microsoft, Supermicro, and GIGABYTE, showed great interest," adding, "In particular, many companies that provide servers expressed their hope to adopt Panecia's CXL 3.1 switch chip, which is scheduled to be provided to customers in the second half of next year, in their server products."
