Nowon-gu Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends 7th 'Rapid Promotion Forum for Reconstruction and Redevelopment'

Nowon-gu Mayor Oh Seung-rok Attends 7th 'Rapid Promotion Forum for Reconstruction and Redevelopment'

On the afternoon of the 17th, Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon District, attended the 'Rapid Promotion Forum for Reconstruction and Redevelopment' held in the auditorium on the 2nd floor of the Nowon Lifelong Education Center.

The district has proactively responded to reconstruction demands by forming a Rapid Promotion Team for Reconstruction and Redevelopment in September 2022. Since the first forum on January 17, the district has been strengthening rapid information provision, sharing, and two-way communication through expert lectures and Q&A sessions in related fields.

This forum, the seventh session, featured a lecture by Ryu Yong-sang, CEO of Anders Engineering, on the 2030 Seoul Metropolitan City Urban and Residential Environment Maintenance Basic Plan and the recently announced August 8 housing supply expansion measures.

The lecture addressed the overall contraction of housing supply alongside the rising trend in apartment sales markets in Seoul and the metropolitan area. In particular, it discussed the market imbalance caused by the sharp decline in non-apartment housing supply following recent jeonse fraud incidents, and deeply examined how Nowon District plans to respond to these differentiated real estate market trends.

Nowon District is preparing for reconstruction of aging housing complexes, starting with 57 complexes (75,000 households), expanding to 73 complexes (83,000 households) by 2025, and 124 complexes (111,000 households) by 2030. Currently, safety inspections for reconstruction are underway at 44 sites, covering approximately 67,620 households.

Mayor Oh Seung-rok stated, “This is a time when tailored responses by region and type are necessary due to the differentiated trends between the apartment markets in Seoul and the metropolitan area and the housing markets in other regions. We will strive to contribute to normalizing housing supply through reconstruction and redevelopment and improve the residential environment for our residents.”
