Goseong-gun, Gangwon-do, to Hold 'Toseong-myeon Misiryeong Ulsanbawi Exploration Event' on the 20th
Temporarily Opened Course... "Should Be Designated as a Legal Exploration Trail"
Goseong-gun (Governor Ham Myeong-jun) announced on the 18th that it will hold the "6th Misiryeong Ulsanbawi Horseshoe Waterfall Exploration Event" on the 20th (Sunday) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
This event began in 2017, reflecting the wishes of Goseong residents to establish a new exploration trail on the Seobong legal trail of Ulsanbawi, as it is the only local government adjacent to Seoraksan National Park without an exploration trail.
Hosted by the Toseong-myeon Prosperity Association and sponsored by Goseong-gun, this event follows a temporarily opened course in the Seoraksan National Park area, climbing to the Horseshoe Waterfall, and this year marks its 6th edition.
The event course starts from the Misiryeong Pass rest area on the Toseong-myeon Wonam-ri Misiryeong Transversal Road, passes through Pokpo Minbak, and goes to the Horseshoe Waterfall, covering a round trip of about 5 km (approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes). It is expected to be a special time to enjoy the gradually changing autumn foliage.
About 500 participants, including local residents and tourists, are expected to join this event. In addition to the exploration, there will be souvenirs and prize draws to provide participants with an enjoyable time.
A Goseong-gun official said, "Since the Seoraksan Ulsanbawi Horseshoe Waterfall course is only temporarily open, this event will be a great opportunity to fully enjoy the special autumn scenery."
