The Gyeongsang Region Education Donation Hub Support Center at Pukyong National University (Director Lee Sang-gil) and Samjin Foods (CEO Park Yong-jun) signed a business agreement on the 17th to promote education donation.
On the 17th, the National Pukyong National University Gyeongsang Region Education Donation Hub Support Center and Samjin Food signed an agreement to promote education donation.
On the morning of the same day, the two organizations signed the agreement at Dongwon Jangbogogwan of Pukyong National University and agreed to cooperate in promoting education donation projects utilizing each organization's educational infrastructure and jointly developing and operating marine fisheries and other educational programs for students in the Gyeongsang region.
This education donation agreement is a meaningful case demonstrating that donors wishing to contribute to education donation can do so not only through classes but also in various other ways.
Samjin Foods has been producing and selling fish cakes and fish meat semi-finished products for three generations since 1953. It is a company with high growth potential in the smart blue food sector, developing shelf-stable fish cakes and Samjin Fish Cake Bakery products.
Going forward, the two organizations plan to collaborate on developing educational programs on ecology, environment, and healthy food for kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school students. They also plan to operate campaigns for climate and environment along with donating snacks made by Samjin Foods to students at Gyeongsang Region education donation cooperative schools (such as rural and island schools).
The Gyeongsang Region Education Donation Hub Support Center was designated in 2023 by the Ministry of Education and the Korea Foundation for the Advancement of Science and Creativity and established within Pukyong National University. Together with institutions, companies, and individual donors, it provides various high-quality education donation programs to kindergarten, elementary, middle, and high school students, establishing itself as a Neulbom School and a specialized education donation support organization.
