'Fruit Day' Event for Three Days Until the 20th
Discount When Paying with Event Card for One Item Each Day of the Week
Emart announced on the 18th that it will hold Fruit Day for three days until the 20th.
First, through the 'One Day Only Special Price' event, one fruit item will be selected each day of the week and offered at a 40% discount when paid with the event card. The target items are apples, Shine Muscat grapes, and tangerines.
These items are among the top three best-selling fruits at Emart in October, showing that they are highly sought after by consumers during the autumn season. Emart has prepared a total of 500 tons of stock for daily sales, including 200 tons of apples, 120 tons of Shine Muscat grapes, and 180 tons of tangerines.
On the 18th, 'Autumn Fresh Apples (1.3kg, bag)' will be sold at 6,900 won, a 40% discount from the regular price of 11,500 won when paid with the event card. On the 19th, 'Shine Muscat (1.5kg, box)' will be sold at 8,940 won, a 40% discount from the regular price of 14,900 won with the event card. On the 20th, 'Jeju Tangerines (3kg, box)' and 'Tyvek Tangerines (3kg, box)' will be sold at 9,480 won and 11,280 won respectively, each at a 40% discount from their regular prices of 15,800 won and 18,800 won.
During the three days of Fruit Day, various fruit item promotions will also be held. 'Hongsi Persimmons (4-6 pieces, pack)' will be sold at 7,800 won per pack when purchasing two packs. 'Chilean Fresh Blueberries (125g, pack)' will be offered as a buy one get one free (1+1) deal at 7,980 won. All Zespri Kiwi products (from New Zealand) will have a 30% discount when using Shinsegae points. Additionally, 'Apple Jujubes (700g)' will be sold at 6,800 won per pack with a 4,000 won discount when using Shinsegae points, and 'Autumn Fresh Chestnuts (extra large)' will be available for 12,900 won with an unlimited fill bag event.
Emart planned Fruit Day because buyers closely managed the nationwide production areas from the flowering period to the harvest period and predicted an improvement in this year’s crop conditions. Accordingly, Emart increased the number of contracted farms and raised pre-stock quantities to lower prices.
According to the October observation report published by the Korea Rural Economic Institute, the production of apples, a representative autumn fresh fruit, is expected to increase by 22% compared to the previous year. This is due to a decrease in pest and disease outbreaks and no damage from the heavy rains in September. Additionally, the production of major fruits such as pears, grapes, and sweet persimmons is expected to increase by 16%, 4%, and 26% respectively compared to last year.
Kim Seung-chan, Emart’s fruit buyer, said, "Our fruit buyers worked hard visiting production areas nationwide to prepare this event at special prices," adding, "We hope customers will purchase and enjoy a variety of fresh fruits in line with the spirit of Fruit Day."
Meanwhile, since the 11th, Emart has been selling the autumn seasonal 'Fresh Singo Pears' (4-6 pieces, 3kg) at 7,980 won as part of the fourth quarter price reversal project.
