On the 16th, Dangjin City in Chungnam Province and Hyodol Co., Ltd. signed an agreement for the "AI Care Robot Hyodol for Elderly Living Alone" at Haenaru Hall in Dangjin City Hall.

Prior to the signing ceremony, Hyodol Co., Ltd. donated a smart pad worth 4.8 million KRW to Dangjin City.

The event was attended by Dangjin Mayor Oh Seonghwan, CEO Kim Jihee of Hyodol Co., Ltd., directors of the Senior Welfare Center and Social Welfare Center, senior citizens, and approximately 40 participants including support workers for the elderly living alone.

The "AI Care Robot Hyodol Support Project for Elderly Living Alone" was selected for the Korea Institute for Robot Industry Advancement’s public offering for the second consecutive year, with a total budget of 180 million KRW (90 million KRW from national funds) allocated with government support.

One hundred elderly individuals living alone who require psychological and emotional care, selected from among those eligible for customized elderly care services, will receive Hyodol robots, providing 24-hour care services regardless of time or place.

"Hyodol" is based on artificial intelligence (AI) technology, enabling interactive communication for efficient management of personalized emotional, health, and daily life support.

Mayor Oh Seonghwan stated, "I hope the care robot Hyodol becomes another family member for our seniors, helping them lead healthy and happy lives. We will continue to strengthen elderly care services using AI to establish a solid local care network and make Dangjin a happier city for seniors."

Meanwhile, starting on the 28th, Dangjin City plans to provide training on the operation of the care robot to dedicated social workers and support staff for customized elderly care services, and will distribute and manage Hyodol robots for the selected elderly beneficiaries to ensure the smooth implementation of this project.
