A drawing contest gathering students from across the country will be held at Cheonsuman in Seosan, Chungnam, a world-renowned migratory bird habitat.
The Seosan city government announced on the 17th that the "Seosan Cheonsuman Migratory Bird Drawing Contest" will take place at Seosan Birdland from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the first day of the "2024 Seosan Birdland Migratory Bird Festival," which begins on the 26th.
The Migratory Bird Festival will be held over two days from the 26th to the 27th at Seosan Birdland, featuring a variety of events with the theme of winter migratory birds.
The drawing contest is open to elementary, middle, and high school students recommended by schools and academies nationwide, and individual applications are also accepted.
For elementary students, the contest categories include imaginative drawings, experience-based drawings, and landscape sketches, while middle and high school students can participate in landscape sketches and animation.
The detailed topics for each category will be announced on the day of the contest. Students wishing to participate must download the application form from the Seosan Birdland website and submit it by email by the 25th.
Those who are unable to submit by email can also register on-site on the day of the contest.
The city plans to announce the winners of the Grand Prize (Mayor of Seosan Award), Gold, Silver, Bronze, Special Selection, and Honorable Mention on November 15th through the Seosan Birdland website.
Kim Jonggil, Director of Seosan Birdland, said, "We prepared this event to encourage students' interest in migratory birds and ecology," and added, "We will do our best to ensure that participating students are not inconvenienced."
