Dong-A Pharmaceutical announced on the 17th that it conducted a comprehensive emergency rescue training for disaster preparedness at the Dong-A Pharmaceutical Dangjin Plant located in Hapdeok-eup, Dangjin-si, Chungnam, in collaboration with the Dangjin Fire Station on the 16th.
This training assumed a large-scale complex disaster scenario involving fire, collapse, and multiple casualties caused by the impact of an earthquake on the factory facilities. The focus was on the roles of each organization and the initial response by the self-defense fire brigade. Starting with a tabletop exercise on the 11th, which involved discussions on various potential issues based on the assumed accident scenario, partial drills and vehicle deployment training were conducted over two days from the 14th, followed by the main training at 2 p.m. on the 16th. A total of 208 personnel from 11 organizations and groups and 36 firefighting equipment units were mobilized for the training.
The main training activities included ▲evacuation of personnel and activities of the self-defense fire brigade ▲initial suppression activities by the first-arriving fire brigade ▲activation of the emergency rescue control team and execution of tasks and roles using the disaster safety communication network (PS LTE) with related agencies ▲emergency medical response training for casualties ▲disaster situation press briefing ▲transfer of command authority and disaster recovery.
A representative from Dong-A Pharmaceutical stated, “Through this comprehensive emergency rescue training for disaster preparedness conducted with the Dangjin Fire Station, we have strengthened our initial disaster response capabilities and enhanced the cooperation system with related emergency rescue agencies. Dong-A Pharmaceutical will continue to actively implement safety and health accident prevention measures within its workplaces to establish and maintain a high level of safety and health culture.”
