A Man in His 50s Who Charged 2.5 Million Won in Drinks with a Found Card... Turns Out He Is a Wanted Criminal with 46 Convictions

A man in his 50s was arrested by the police for using a card he found on the street to pay 2.5 million won at a bar.


On the 17th, the Gwangju Bukbu Police Station announced that they had apprehended a man in his 50s, identified as Mr. A, on charges of using another person's card found on the street (embezzlement of lost property, etc.). Mr. A is suspected of using the card he found on a road in Unam-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, on the 10th to pay about 2.5 million won at a bar in Dongcheon-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju.

Based on a theft report, the police launched an investigation and arrested Mr. A the day before at a boarding house in Yongbong-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju.


According to the police investigation, Mr. A, who has a total of 46 prior convictions, mainly committed fraud and theft in an area of Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and fled to Gwangju after a warrant was issued for his arrest.


The police plan to investigate further crimes committed by Mr. A, who claimed to have committed the offenses due to financial hardship.
