Silla University Department of Beauty Care, All Winners in First Beauty Contest Since Department Establishment

Shilla University (President Heo Nam-sik) announced on the 17th that all students from the newly established Department of Beauty Care who participated in their first beauty competition won awards.

On the 5th, students from Shilla University's Department of Beauty Care achieved the honor of all winning awards at the ‘2024 International Health & Beauty Expo,’ a beauty skills competition organized by the International Health & Beauty Association. The competition featured 14 categories including hairdressing, hair utilization, scalp care, skin beauty, waxing, eyelash, nail, makeup, scalp art, professional, beauty patch therapy, beauty rehabilitation therapy, sports rehabilitation therapy, and permanent makeup.

In the ‘Nail’ category, Shilla University students Lee Ji-min and Shin Joo-hee won the gold prize in the ‘Tip Overlay (Silk)’ section, Kim Su-yeon received the gold prize in the ‘Silk Extension’ section, and No Ga-hwi took the gold prize in the ‘Nail Care (Full Coat)’ section.

Student Han Ji-won, who participated in the work contest, achieved excellent results by winning the gold prize in the One-Tone Sculpture (Gel) section, and silver prizes in both the Gel Manicure (Fan Shape) and Acrylic French Sculpture sections, totaling three awards.

Established in 2024, Shilla University’s Department of Beauty Care is dedicated to strengthening students’ capabilities with the goal of nurturing outstanding global beauty professionals, and this competition marked their first achievement.

Professor Jeon Hong-shin of Shilla University’s Department of Beauty Care stated, “The remarkable achievement of all participants winning awards in the first competition since the department’s establishment in 2024 is the result of the combined efforts of the department’s curriculum, extracurricular programs, and the students’ dedication.” He added, “Although this is just the beginning, we will do our best to establish ourselves as a hub for cultivating global beauty experts.”
