The Second Discharged Soldier After Eldest Brother Jin Emerges

Group BTS member J-Hope (30) is the second among the members to complete his military service and return to fans.

On the 17th, J-Hope will hold a discharge ceremony and be discharged from the Army 36th Infantry Division Baekho Recruit Training Center in Wonju, Gangwon Province.

In this regard, the agency Big Hit Music stated on the 14th, "The discharge day is a day when many soldiers are discharged together," and added, "There will be no separate event on the day of discharge, and to prevent safety accidents due to congestion, we earnestly ask fans to refrain from visiting the site."

BTS members also congratulated J-Hope on his discharge. Jungkook wrote on the fan community Weverse, "Since you went ahead first, I hope you happily do what you couldn't finish. You worked hard." BTS fandom 'ARMY' also participated in celebrating by creating a 'J-Hope Forest' to commemorate his discharge.

The agency said, "We are always grateful for the support and unwavering love that fans have sent to J-Hope," and added, "We will continue to do our best to support our artists."

J-Hope enlisted as an active-duty soldier in the army last April and served as an instructor at the Army 36th Infantry Division Baekho Recruit Training Center.

While serving as an instructor, J-Hope was noted for his exemplary military life. In June, at the '2024 Strong Warrior, Army! Presentation Contest' held at the War Memorial of Korea in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, he gave a presentation titled "From BTS J-Hope, the leader who led K-pop to the world, to Sergeant Jung Ho-seok who felt pride as a soldier of the Republic of Korea," and won the grand prize.

Earlier, on the 17th of last month, 30 days before his discharge, J-Hope expressed his anticipation on the fan community Weverse, saying, "I hope autumn comes soon," and "I will see you on this day next month (October 17th)."

BTS member Jin, who was discharged in June, and J-Hope, who is discharged on this day, aside from them, the other five members are currently fulfilling their military duties. RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook are serving active duty. Suga is working as a social service agent.
