Director Kang Boreum has been creating original works centered on the theme of encounters between diverse bodies and voices of women, labor, youth, artists, queer, and disabled/non-disabled people. Kang expressed her gratitude, saying, "I thank my colleagues who have been with me so far, those who will join me in the future, and the audience."

Artist Jeong Yeoreum deals with the relationship between war, nation, place, and memory, mainly through video media. She freely navigates between past and present image creation methods by mixing various cutting-edge technologies such as found footage (a method of editing videos originally made for other purposes into parts of a work), games, and Google Earth, as well as scenes she has filmed herself. Jeong said, "With the support and expectations, I will strive to present even better works in the future."

The Doosan Yeongang Foundation provides a total of 290 million KRW to the awardees. The prize money is 30 million KRW each, with 150 million KRW provided to the performance category winner for new production costs, and 80 million KRW to the art category winner for Doosan Gallery exhibition expenses, overseas residency accommodation, stay, and airfare.

Park Yonghyun, chairman of the Doosan Yeongang Foundation, said, "Supporting artists who strive to build and expand their own unique artistic worlds is the responsibility and duty of the Doosan Yeongang Foundation," adding, "I hope this award will be a strong encouragement to those who will lead our cultural and artistic community in the future."
