AI-Based Personalized Recommendation Feature to Be Introduced in the First Half of Next Year
Kakao Mobility announced on the 16th that it will launch the 'Yojum Tteuneun' service, which guides real-time hot places based on user preferences by utilizing Kakao Navi driving big data.
'Yojum Tteuneun' is a service that breaks away from the existing location recommendation services focused on 'restaurants' and 'nearby areas' and recommends nationwide location rankings. Through this, Kakao Navi users will be provided with diverse and mobile experiences.
Users can access the service by selecting the 'Yojum Tteuneun' banner at the top of the Kakao Navi home screen. They can check ranked locations in four categories: ▲'Neighbor PICK,' popular places chosen by users living in the same area based on their registered home address ▲'Over 50km,' destinations where users traveled more than 50km during weekends in the last four weeks ▲'Rapid Rise,' places with a sharp increase in visitors over the past seven days ▲'In Month N,' seasonal popular places with a surge in visitors this month compared to the same month last year.
For each ranked location, additional information using Navi big data can be checked, such as 'places locals frequently visit,' 'places visited multiple times,' 'visited often in the morning,' 'visitor count increased by OOO%,' and 'OO visitors yesterday.'
Kakao Mobility plans to introduce AI-based personalized recommendation features in the first half of next year. This function measures the similarity of users who visit places similar to oneself and recommends places worth visiting. Customized location recommendations will be possible, such as places frequently visited by parents with children or places travelers often go to when it rains. In the future, through AI model advancement, various recommendation services linked with Kakao Navi and Kakao T, including transportation and leisure, will also be introduced.
Lee Seung-won, head of the Navi Service Team at Kakao Mobility, said, "By utilizing Kakao Navi big data, we plan to recommend nationwide cultural and artistic spaces, travel destinations, festivals, and more to provide users with enjoyable mobility experiences," adding, "Starting with this launch, we will continue to introduce advanced Navi services such as AI-based personalized location recommendation features."
