On the 16th, Seoul City announced that the 'Sinchon-dong Community Center Complex Project' was approved with modifications at the 8th Public Housing Integrated Deliberation Committee.

The project site is located at 142-4 Daehyeon-dong, Seodaemun-gu, within a 2-minute walk from Sinchon Station on the Gyeongui-Jungang Line, making it a station area. The project will develop job-linked support housing and the Sinchon-dong Community Center in a complex.

Job-linked support housing refers to housing designated as requiring residential support linked to jobs to create youth employment and revitalize the local economy. The Sinchon-dong Community Center Complex Project was selected as a candidate site for job-linked support housing by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in July 2020.

According to the project plan, the building will be two basement floors to 11 floors above ground, with the upper floors housing 78 units of 30㎡ exclusive job-linked support housing. Among these, 24 units will be built with specialized layouts featuring small workspaces.

The first and second floors above ground will include the community center, a cultural center for local residents, a small library, and other convenience facilities.

The Sinchon-dong Community Center Complex Project is scheduled to begin construction in the second half of 2025 and aims for completion in 2028.

Han Byung-yong, Director of the Housing Office at Seoul City, said, "By supplying public housing utilizing aging and underused facilities, we expect not only residential stability but also a place where the enthusiasm of entrepreneurs and innovative ideas become reality." He added, "Seoul City will continue to be a strong supporter for the residential stability and success of entrepreneurs dreaming of startup success."
