Chuncheon City Selects 'YN C&S' as Operator of 'Hwadong,2571'

YN C&S "Reconfigured as K-Food Creative Space and Local Culture Enjoyment Space"

Gangwon Special Self-Governing Province Chuncheon City (Mayor Yuk Dong-han) announced on the 15th that it has selected the joint venture YN Culture&Space (hereinafter YN C&S) as the entrusted organization to operate ‘Hwadong, 2571,’ a complex cultural space for Chuncheon food.

Located in Geunhwa-dong, Chuncheon City, ‘Hwadong, 2571’ is a project promoted by Chuncheon City during the 7th local government administration to develop food using local agricultural and food resources and to diversify safe food consumption. It was built on a 21,000㎡ waterfront site to the right of Chuncheon Bridge in Geunhwa-dong, Chuncheon City, near the entrance to Legoland, with a building area of 1,700㎡. It consists of six buildings including youth start-up stores, shared offices, and a traditional liquor experience center. After the building was completed last year, the city was unable to find an entrusted organization until now, finally selecting one after five rounds of public recruitment.

According to Chuncheon City, the fifth public recruitment for the entrusted organization received applications from three companies, and a private consignment review committee was held on the 15th. The committee evaluated △the expertise of the entrusted organization △financial capability △specialized knowledge and understanding of Chuncheon’s food projects △ability to strengthen partnerships and networks, and finally selected YN C&S as the entrusted organization with the highest score.

YN C&S is a joint venture established to lead the future cultural content industry, specializing in space development by providing the best solutions and optimal infrastructure for creators based on experience in entertainment planning and video content production.

YN C&S participated in this public recruitment as a consortium with companies that have extensive experience in educational planning for youth food development and supporting the discovery and growth of creators. YN C&S explained its ambition to reposition this space as a K-food creative space and a local culture enjoyment space, aiming to establish ‘Hwadong, 2571’ as Chuncheon’s representative complex cultural space for food by enabling youth creators to autonomously produce, distribute, and consume food developed here.

Going forward, the entrusted organization YN C&S will sign a consignment contract with Chuncheon City within this month and operate the ‘Hwadong, 2571’ Chuncheon food complex cultural space for three years from November this year to October 2027.
