Democratic Party Gyeongnam Provincial Party Launches 'Myeong Taegyun Gate Countermeasures Committee' ... Also Operating Nomination Interference Reporting Center

The Democratic Party of Korea's Gyeongnam Provincial Party announced on the 15th that it has launched the 'Yun Geonhui·Myeong Taegyun Gate Countermeasures Committee' and will conduct an internal investigation into allegations of interference in the parliamentary election nominations.

The provincial party held a press conference in front of the main gate of the Gyeongnam Provincial Government Office and explained that it will receive online and offline reports related to the ongoing 'Myeong Taegyun nomination interference allegations' through the countermeasures committee and a reporting center.

The countermeasures committee will be composed of about 10 members, and a QR code linking directly to the reporting center will be provided on the provincial party’s official website.

The reporting center office will have a direct phone line installed to receive tips regarding suspicions of illegal nomination interference, candidate manipulation through public opinion rigging, involvement in vested interests through illicit requests, and illegal political fund transactions.

The provincial party plans to conduct its own investigation based on the received reports and use the results as materials for special investigations and national audits.

Additionally, it plans to hold party speeches condemning illegal nomination interference and strengthen promotional efforts through banners and publicity materials.
