Railroad and Road Blown Up, Then Claiming 'Evidence Secured'
Kim Yo-jong "Provokers Will Pay a Harsh Price"
North Korea claimed to have secured evidence that the entity responsible for flying a drone that violated the airspace over Pyongyang was our military.
Kim Yo-jong, Deputy Director of the Workers' Party, stated in a statement released through the Korean Central News Agency on the afternoon of the 15th, "We have obtained clear evidence that the Korean military gangsters are the main culprits behind the hostile sovereignty-violating provocation of invading the airspace over the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea," adding, "The provocateurs will pay a severe price."
According to the Joint Chiefs of Staff, North Korea carried out a suspected bombing act around noon on the same day to block connecting roads in the areas of the Gyeongui Line and Donghae Line. Currently, heavy equipment is being deployed to carry out additional work, and the military authorities conducted retaliatory fire in the area south of the Military Demarcation Line (MDL) following North Korea's bombing.
Subsequently, the Ministry of Unification expressed regret over North Korea's repeated regressive behavior and issued a statement asserting that all responsibility lies with North Korea. Kim Yo-jong's statement was released about 30 minutes after this statement, seemingly responding immediately to the South Korean government's stance amid ongoing verbal confrontations.
In a statement released on the 12th, Kim Yo-jong had left open the possibility that a South Korean civilian organization might have flown the drone, but in the statement the day before, she claimed, "We clearly know that the main culprits of the Pyongyang drone incident are the Republic of Korea military trash." The South Korean military has not confirmed whether it flew the drone.
