This Year's Uljin County Governor's Cup Tournament Successfully Concludes in 5 Events

From the 15th, Enthusiasm Continues with Four Events Including Ground Golf

On the 12th, Uljin-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, kicked off the 21st Uljin-gun Mayor's Cup Tennis Tournament, marking the start of a total of 13 events held across various venues throughout Uljin-gun, including the Uljin Sports Complex.

The tournaments will take place over approximately two months from October to November, with events held by category. Currently, tennis, gateball, park golf, soccer, and badminton have successfully concluded, with about 1,000 participants including players and officials.


The Uljin-gun Mayor's Cup tournaments represent the county and serve as a platform for athletes from diverse backgrounds to come together, fostering harmony and exchange beyond mere competition.


Notably, in the gateball matches, students participating in elementary school after-school programs played alongside senior athletes, showcasing impressive intergenerational unity.


In the soccer matches, office workers representing Uljin delivered passionate games that captivated the audience's attention.


Starting with the ground golf tournament on October 15, four more events including archery are expected to continue this momentum.


Mayor Son Byeong-bok stated, “I hope this tournament held under the clear autumn sky of October becomes a meaningful time to strengthen harmony, friendship, and camaraderie,” adding, “We will continue to expand various sports facilities and promote sports tourism to further develop Uljin-gun’s sports culture.”
