On the 15th, Ulju-gun, Ulsan City, held a pork consumption promotion event at the county office cafeteria in collaboration with the Ulsan City branch of the Korean Pork Producers Association.
This event was organized to support pig farmers and related industries facing difficulties due to the recent decline in pork prices caused by increased production costs amid the economic downturn.
On the day, Lee Soon-geol, the county governor, along with about 700 officials from various organizations and county government employees, shared the hardships of pig farmers while enjoying boiled pork prepared at the county office cafeteria, promoting high-quality and delicious Ulju-gun pork.
An Ulju-gun official stated, "We hope that pig farmers, who are struggling due to the recent economic downturn, falling pork prices, and African swine fever, will regain stability as soon as possible. We will continue to promote pork consumption and safety in cooperation with organizations and groups."
