Seoul Mayor Oh Se-hoon recently expressed his intention to take legal action, including filing a lawsuit, against Myung Tae-kyun, a key figure suspected of interfering in Kim Geon-hee's nomination. Myung claims that Mayor Oh played a crucial role in the Seoul mayoral election, even saying that Oh pleaded tearfully in front of him.

On the morning of the 15th, during the National Assembly Public Administration and Security Committee's audit held in Seoul, when Yoon Gun-young, a member of the Democratic Party of Korea, asked, "(Myung) is threatening the President and First Lady, yet the Presidential Office is unable to respond. There are also defamatory remarks about the Mayor. Do you intend to file a lawsuit?" Oh replied, "I have already written the complaint."

On the same day, Representative Yoon asked Mayor Oh, "Myung even gave an interview saying that you cried asking him to save you. For the sake of public clarity, did you actually plead for help?" In response, Mayor Oh addressed the committee chair, saying, "I believe I am not obligated to answer such questions," and criticized Myung's claim that he orchestrated the unification process in the Seoul mayoral election as "absurd nonsense."

Earlier, on the 13th, Myung stated, "The day after the People Power Party's primary, on March 5th, I met with Chairman Kim Jong-in," adding, "Chairman Kim gave me the mission that the People Power Party candidate must become the Seoul mayor and to definitely defeat Ahn Cheol-soo, then leader of the People’s Party. I arranged the plan accordingly." He even claimed that Mayor Oh pleaded tearfully in front of him.

Mayor Oh immediately refuted these claims. He warned Myung, saying, "Ultimately, he will be thoroughly investigated through a prosecution investigation and pay the price." Oh explained, "During the 2021 Seoul mayoral by-election, former lawmaker Kim Young-sun strongly urged me to meet him, but I judged him to be a strange and dangerous person and cut off relations." He added, "The talk about crying is a ridiculous claim. The very idea of pleading in front of a political hustler I had never met is nonsense."

He further criticized, "I do not know to whom or what Myung said, but the person he claims advised on the unification strategy was the strongest opponent of unification, which is self-contradictory," and said, "Mixing facts and lies to stir up trouble and set fires is a ploy to cover his own faults and divert attention elsewhere."
