118,000㎡ Scale... Expected to Serve as a Media Industry Hub in the Northern Region
The first section of the Paju Studio City General Industrial Complex in Gyeonggi Province has been approved for completion, and full-scale corporate occupancy is expected to begin.
According to Paju City on the 15th, the Paju Studio City General Industrial Complex is an industrial complex covering a total area of 120,000㎡ in the Naepo-ri area of Munsan-eup. It is divided into an industrial complex where companies can move in (Section 1: 118,000㎡) and an access road area (Section 2: 2,000㎡). Section 1 was started in 2021 and completed in three years, while Section 2 is scheduled to be completed by the end of next year.
The completed Section 1 includes 75,000㎡ of industrial facility land, 5,000㎡ of support facility land, and 38,000㎡ of public facility land such as roads and parks. A large-scale broadcasting and telecommunications facility for video and audio recording production is planned to be established.
When the industrial complex plan was first approved in 2014, it was planned to be developed for general manufacturing industries, but due to changes in occupancy demand, it was changed to focus on video and audio recording production industries. Broadcasting, film, and art companies (NSN Studio Co., Ltd.) and their partners will move into the industrial facility land and operate as a state-of-the-art studio.
Kim Kyung-il, mayor of Paju City, said, “With the completion of Section 1 of the Paju Studio City General Industrial Complex and the occupancy of related industry companies, we expect the local economy to be revitalized through job creation effects, and the northern part of Paju to emerge as a hub for the media content industry.”
