Installation of 'Yeolmae' Themed Sculptures and Photo Zones at Jungnangcheon Picnic Garden, Creating Various Unique Spaces
Ten Additional Gardens with Distinct Themes Including Signature Han River Gardens Planned for Second Half of the Year
Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Won-oh) is renovating the Jungnangcheon Picnic Garden for autumn and accelerating the creation of various gardens in the second half of the year.
The 'Jungnangcheon Picnic Garden,' created with various sculptures and flower beds, is a space where sightseeing and resting areas harmonize. It features a variety of flowers representing autumn, such as Garden Mum and Aster, and has created a unique space themed around Seongdong Fruit Village, cultivated by gardeners, using sculptures like acorns.
Additionally, a photo zone has been set up with fun objects such as scarecrows as a backdrop, allowing children to take pictures, and an oak leaf resting area where visitors can sit and play has been installed.
Along with this, lighting has been installed throughout the picnic area to brightly illuminate the garden for residents visiting in the evening.
Following the Seongdong Flower Maru at the district office and the Jungnangcheon Children's Dream Garden, which were created in the first half of the year and received much love from residents, the district plans to create more than 10 additional gardens with unique themes in the second half of the year to offer various pleasures to residents.
The district is spreading a garden culture by creating and maintaining gardens together with residents. Currently, 'Village Gardener Training Education' is being conducted simultaneously, and about 100 village gardeners are expected to be trained by the end of this year.
Also, near the Seoul Forest Complex Sports and Culture Center, the 'Seongdong Gardening Center' is being established to serve as a hub for garden culture jointly managed by the public and private sectors.
Jeong Won-oh, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, "I hope everyone enjoys the newly renovated Jungnangcheon Picnic Garden this autumn, and please look forward to the additional gardens with unique themes planned for the second half of the year." He added, "We will continue to support residents so that they can experience, enjoy, and cultivate various garden cultures throughout their daily lives without hesitation."
