Guro-gu Promotes 'Love House Repair' for Low-Income Disabled Households

Installation of Convenience Facilities, Energy Efficiency Improvements, Wallpapering, and Flooring Renovations in Homes of Five Low-Income Disabled Households

Guro-gu (Mayor Moon Heon-il) is undertaking the ‘2024 Love House Repair’ project to improve the living conditions of low-income disabled households.

The ‘Love House Repair’ project aims to enhance the convenience and safety of housing and improve the quality of life by improving inconvenient living environments for low-income disabled households in the district who are economically disadvantaged.

Since August 5, the district recruited candidates for the Love House Repair project for four weeks and selected four households after comprehensively considering the severity of disability, income level, and housing conditions of the applicants.

The selected households can receive support of around 2 million KRW per household for repair costs needed to install convenience facilities (such as removing thresholds, installing safety handrails, and entrance ramps), improve energy efficiency (insulation, windows, etc.), and other repairs including wallpapering, flooring, waterproofing, and bathroom improvements.

The repair work will be carried out from October to December by specialized companies experienced in home repairs for disabled households. Continuous aftercare and regular visit services will also be provided after the construction.

A Guro-gu official stated, “This project will enable low-income disabled households to live in a comfortable and safe environment,” and added, “We will do our best to provide practical support to disabled families who find it difficult to maintain proper living conditions due to economic hardships.”

Additionally, last year’s project included wallpapering, kitchen sink replacement, and sash installation for five low-income disabled households.
