Police "Carbon monoxide poisoning suspected"
A woman in her 30s was found dead inside a tent near Geumgangho Rest Area.
According to the Gunsan Police Station in Jeonbuk on the 14th, at around 5:10 PM that day, police and 119 emergency responders who arrived at the scene discovered Ms. A (37) deceased inside a tent set up near Geumgangho Rest Area. It is reported that the man who was with Ms. A made the report. The man had fallen asleep after drinking with Ms. A the previous day.
When the police arrived, Ms. A was already in rigor mortis, and there were no external injuries. Based on the fact that a brazier was placed inside the tent, the police suspect the cause of death to be carbon monoxide poisoning. Currently, the police are investigating the relationship between the man and Ms. A, as well as the circumstances of her death, and plan to request an autopsy from the National Forensic Service. A police official stated, "No external injuries indicative of beating or assault were found on Ms. A's body," and added, "We will ascertain the details of the incident based on statements from the man and witnesses."
