Namyangju-si, Joan-myeon Senior Care Facility Construction Planned... "Expected to Be a Resident Welfare Hub"

Namyangju-si, Joan-myeon Senior Care Facility Construction Planned... "Expected to Be a Resident Welfare Hub" Location map of the elderly care facility to be established in Joan-myeon, Namyangju-si.

"We will make this facility one that improves the quality of life for Joan-myeon residents who have endured decades of inconvenience due to various regulations."

On the 14th, Namyangju Mayor Joo Gwang-deok announced plans to build a two-story welfare facility for the elderly and children in Joan-myeon.

Last month, the city was selected for the '2024 Hangang River Basin Environmental Office Special Support Project,' securing 4.6 billion KRW in project funds. The city plans to add 800 million KRW of municipal funds, investing a total of 5.4 billion KRW in the facility's construction.

Since being designated as a water source protection area in 1975, Joan-myeon has been subject to strict regulations for decades, resulting in a severe lack of convenience facilities for residents. Therefore, through the construction of this welfare facility, the city aims to improve the quality of life for Joan-myeon residents and promote communication and harmony among them.

The welfare facility construction project is scheduled to begin next year and be completed by 2026. It is expected to become an important space providing comprehensive welfare services such as health management, psychological counseling, and beauty services to Joan-myeon residents in the future.

Mayor Joo Gwang-deok emphasized, "This welfare facility is very meaningful as it is a much-needed facility for Joan-myeon residents who have endured various regulations for decades due to water source protection," adding, "We will make it the best facility that enhances residents' quality of life and happiness."

He continued, "We will continue to discover and promote practical projects for the development of Joan-myeon and the improvement of residents' welfare."
