Damyang-gun, 'Changpyeong-myeon Traditional Food Festival' on 25th-26th

‘The Charm of Taste and Tradition, and the Leisure of Life’ Theme

Jellanam-do Damyang-gun announced on the 14th that it will hold the "2024 11th Changpyeong Traditional Food Festival" over two days from the 25th to the 26th under the theme of "The Taste and Tradition, and the Leisure of Life."

As this is the first festival in six years since the outbreak of COVID-19, the county is accelerating the maintenance of scenery and infrastructure for the event site. The festival, held around Changheung Hakdang, will open with an opening ceremony at 11 a.m. on the 25th, featuring various congratulatory performances including trot prodigy Kim Seong-rok, followed by a village festival with singing contests, talent shows, and food competitions.

Side events include various food and experience/sales spaces, treasure hunts, lucky draw events, and food demonstration events by Korea’s food masters, providing a variety of enjoyable activities and attractions.

Park Jong-bong, the festival promotion committee chairman, said, “The festival was organized with the goal of promoting the charm of Changpyeong-myeon, which has the aesthetics of tradition and slowness,” adding, “We will do our utmost to prepare so that it becomes Damyang-gun’s representative autumn festival that many visitors can enjoy.”
