This year marks the 14th Korea Landscape Awards, the most prestigious landscape award in Korea introduced in 2001. The event encourages and honors the achievements of landscaping projects carried out by public institutions as well as private companies.

Seolbong Park, which received the award this time, is a representative attraction of Icheon City. It is located at Seolbongsan Mountain and is one of the nine scenic spots of Icheon, boasting the beautiful Seolbong Lake.

The city explained that the Seolbong Park renovation project was highly evaluated and received the award. Through the renovation project completed in May, the city transformed the area into a healing space in nature by creating a waterside deck connecting Seolbong Lake, a grass plaza, a children's themed playground, and a birch tree walking trail.

Kim Kyung-hee, mayor of Icheon City, said, "Taking this award as an opportunity, we will make further efforts so that citizens can easily access and enjoy the park in their daily lives."
