Mayor Kim Bora: "It Will Be a Venue for Eco-Friendly Practices"
The 'Anseong Environmental Education Center,' which will serve as an eco-friendly education hub in Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do, has opened its doors.
On the 14th, Anseong-si announced that it recently held an opening ceremony for the eco-friendly educational facility 'Anseong Environmental Education Center,' attended by Kim Bora, mayor of Anseong, environmental groups, education sector figures, and local residents.

Located at 245-14 Bukjwa-ri, Bogae-myeon, the Anseong Environmental Education Center was established as part of the 'Smart Green City Contest Project' led by the Ministry of Environment to address environmental issues and strengthen citizen capabilities.
The center was built as an eco-friendly educational facility utilizing waste heat from the Anseong Resource Recovery Facility and solar power as its main energy sources, and it received a Level 2 certification for zero-energy buildings.
The center consists of a two-story education building, a subtropical fruit greenhouse, and a nursery area, equipped with lecture rooms, upcycling experience rooms, XR experience rooms, a special exhibition hall, an eco gallery, a library, a subtropical greenhouse, and rest areas.

Mayor Kim said, "At a time when the need for climate change response and carbon neutrality is becoming increasingly important due to various environmental issues," adding, "The Environmental Education Center will be a place of empathy where practical activities to wisely overcome these crisis situations can be shared and spread."
With its opening, the center plans to offer programs for various age groups to raise awareness of the importance of the environment and encourage small practical actions.
