The Jeonnam Parents Association Federation announced that it will carry out a parent signature campaign opposing the government's teacher quota reduction policy until the 27th.
This signature campaign was initiated amid parents' sense of crisis that the government's teacher quota reduction policy could severely deteriorate the student education environment.

The Jeonnam Parents Association Federation expressed concern, stating, "The Ministry of Education's reduction of teacher quotas violates Article 4 of the Framework Act on Education, which stipulates 'equal opportunity in education,' and the damage will directly affect our children."
They continued, "Currently, the teacher quota is calculated based on the indicator 'number of students per teacher,' which does not consider the characteristics of the region at all. In the case of Jeonnam, according to this standard, 329 teachers were reduced in 2023, 116 in 2024, and 324 teachers are scheduled to be cut in 2025, raising concerns about damage to the education field."
They also demanded opposition to the reduction of teacher quotas to ensure equal educational opportunities, securing a stable educational environment for high-quality public education, and guaranteeing expanded support for temporary teachers beyond the fixed quota for a limited period.
Chairperson Lee Hee-jin said, "We cannot allow our children to suffer due to government policies that do not consider the regional characteristics of Jeonnam," adding, "We will strive to unite the will of all parents in connection with the Jeonnam Office of Education's opposition to the teacher quota reduction to create a stable educational environment."
