"Only the President's Line in the Presidential Office"
On the 14th, the Presidential Office stated regarding the necessity of a personnel reshuffle in Yongsan related to the unofficial organization raised by some quarters, "The final authority on personnel matters is the President," and added, "there is no unofficial organization."
A senior official of the Presidential Office, speaking to reporters at the Yongsan Presidential Office in the afternoon, responded to a question about People Power Party leader Han Dong-hoon's call for a personnel reshuffle by saying, "Is there something wrong that requires a personnel reshuffle? Where is the First Lady's line?" and added, "There is only the 'President's line' in the Presidential Office."
On the 12th, at a campaign rally for the by-election of the Busan Geumjeong District Office, Representative Han said, "A personnel reshuffle in the Presidential Office is necessary to dispel the public's concerns and worries about First Lady Kim Keon-hee." This was interpreted as a demand to reorganize some personnel related to First Lady Kim working in the Presidential Office.
A Presidential Office official said, "There is no such organization operating unofficially outside of official duties," and added, "the media should not be swayed by rumors spread by people like former administrative officer Kim Dae-nam and others."
