A Festival with Citizens Takes Place
The beloved national program "KBS National Singing Contest," cherished by people across the country for many years, will visit Miryang for the first time in seven years since 2017.
The city of Miryang, Gyeongnam, announced on the 14th that it has invited the "KBS National Singing Contest" to provide a joyful festival and a venue for unity where citizens can showcase their talents and passion. The city also aims to promote Miryang, which is taking a new leap forward under the city vision of "Making Miryang Shine, Making Citizens Happy," to the entire nation.
The preliminary round will be held at 1 p.m. on the 27th at the main auditorium on the second floor of Miryang City Hall, and the main recording will take place at 2 p.m. on the 30th at a special outdoor stage next to the Sammun-dong riverside performance venue by the Miryang River.
Those wishing to participate in the preliminary round can download the application form from the Miryang city website until the 18th and submit it to the Culture and Arts Division at City Hall or to the local administrative welfare centers, or send it by email to the Culture and Arts Division. Anyone with talent and passion for singing, dancing, or witty storytelling?including citizens, employees, students, and business owners with ties to Miryang?are eligible to apply.
The "KBS National Singing Contest" will feature the witty and flavorful hosting of comedian Nam Heeseok, as well as performances by five invited singers?Kim Hye-yeon, Yoon Soo-hyun, Park Hye-shin, Son Tae-jin, and Kim Yura?alongside the singing competition among the finalists, promising an exciting and passionate stage.
Mayor Ahn Byunggu said, "I hope many citizens will participate in the KBS National Singing Contest, being held for the first time in seven years, to showcase their joyful songs and wit, giving viewers laughter and emotion with our stories." He added, "I hope many citizens and visitors will come together to cheer and enjoy this exciting festival where all 100,000 citizens of Miryang become one."
