Goryeong County (Governor Lee Namcheol) has been selected as an "Outstanding Institution" in the "2024 Disaster Management Evaluation" conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, receiving a ministerial commendation, a special grant of 88 million KRW, and additional rewards.
This evaluation comprehensively considered 44 indicators across six areas of disaster and safety management (common, prevention, preparedness, response, recovery, and additional points/deductions) for 332 disaster management agencies nationwide, including central government departments, public institutions, and local governments.
In this evaluation, the county received high marks in various indicators such as ▲professional training performance of disaster and safety management staff ▲organization, role assignment, and proficiency of disaster response task forces ▲securing and managing disaster relief infrastructure ▲recovery project management capabilities ▲actual disaster and accident response cases.
Lee Namcheol, Governor of Goryeong County, stated, "Being selected as an outstanding institution in this evaluation is the result of our continuous efforts to improve disaster management capabilities," and added, "We will continue to establish systematic disaster management and response systems to make Goryeong even safer."
