Gyeonggi Pocheon City (Mayor Baek Young-hyun) announced on the 14th that it held a new integrated city brand launch ceremony, reflecting Pocheon City's future vision and urban identity, at Pocheon Sports Complex on the 13th with over 20,000 citizens.
The launch ceremony was held as the final event of the '22nd Pocheon Citizens' Day.' About 10 members of the project promotion committee, including the Mayor of Pocheon, the chairman and council members of the Pocheon City Council, the chairman of the Korea Senior Citizens Association Pocheon branch, and the chairman of the Pocheon Youth Committee, attended to brighten the occasion. Mayor Baek Young-hyun personally introduced the integrated city brand and character in sync with a video, and after the introduction, performed a button-pressing performance with the participants to proclaim the new Pocheon.
Also, the drone light show, which decorated the finale of the event, concluded the launch ceremony by illuminating Pocheon's beautiful night sky with the new integrated city brand logo and character as the first and second images.
Mayor Baek Young-hyun of Pocheon said, "Through the launch of the new integrated city brand, we will take a leap forward as a city of harmonious coexistence where elements of symmetry such as Pocheon's present and future, nature and people, ecology and industry, daily life and security achieve balance," and added, "We will move forward bigger and newer together with the citizens."
Meanwhile, since April, Pocheon City has been promoting related projects to develop new symbols. By developing an integrated city brand that unifies CI (emblem) and BI (city brand) and a new character (Pouri), the city plans to enhance its brand value and raise citizens' pride and dignity.
