Plogging Master for Office Workers 'Changwon Plovity'
Environmental Guardian Master 'Happy Dream Leaders Association'
On the 14th, Changwon Special City in Gyeongnam selected two teams, 'Changwon Plovity' and 'Haengbokdrip Leaders Association,' as the Carbon Neutral Lifestyle Masters of the Month for October.
'Changwon Plovity,' the master of workplace plogging, is a small group of office workers formed from the words plogging and activity. They have been consistently engaged in environmental cleanup volunteer activities.
'Haengbokdrip Leaders Association,' the master of environmental protection, is a women's volunteer organization composed of members in their 40s to 70s since 2013. With the motto that carbon neutrality starts in the kitchen at home, they have been steadily carrying out environmental preservation activities, even if on a small scale.
In particular, the members operate a market for sharing unused items, turning what would be waste into resources. The proceeds are used to help multicultural families, and they are committed to practicing small actions for a happier society for future generations.
Choi Youngsook, Director of the Climate and Environment Bureau, said, "This year, Changwon City has produced many Carbon Neutral Lifestyle Masters and received much attention. We look forward to their continued activities and ask for ongoing interest in overcoming the climate crisis."
Meanwhile, Changwon City plans to hold a final competition among the selected masters in November, allowing them to share and spread their know-how and promote various carbon-neutral lifestyles to citizens.
