Increased by 5 People Compared to the Previous Survey
Since January of this year, the cumulative number of students who have suffered from deepfake sexual exploitation materials has reached 814.
According to the "School Deepfake False Video Damage Status" announced by the Ministry of Education on the 14th, the cumulative number of students affected by deepfake from January of this year to the 11th was 814. There were 33 teachers and 3 staff members affected.
The number of affected students increased by 5 compared to the previous survey on the 4th of last month.
The total number of damage reports was 7, investigation requests were 10, and deletion support connections were 11. Damage reports included 1 case from elementary school, 4 from middle school, and 2 from high school. Investigation requests included 4 from elementary school, 4 from middle school, and 2 from high school.
The Ministry of Education has been investigating the damage status targeting 17 metropolitan and provincial offices of education since deepfake sexual exploitation materials were massively distributed through Telegram group chats and other channels, causing controversy. The cumulative number of damage reports is 516. Investigation requests total 432, and deletion support connections total 230.
